I am in a terrible slump for the past 3 weeks. Two weeks ago I shot a 60 on league night, losing several balls. Tonight I figured I would curb my shotgun aim, and leave the driver at home. It worked, I lost no balls, however I shot a 57, putting up 2-3 8s. It was no fun after 4-5 holes, I couldnt wait for it to be over.

when will the slump end!? I would love to shoot 50 again!

Sounds like a good time to hit the range and work out your kinks.

how many putts and up and downs during your round. ball striking is not the only reason for high scores. I would go back to basic, grip, posture, rotation on your backswing, tempo. and have a low handicapper look at your game and make a recommendation

I would start by figuring out where you are losing all of your strokes, putting, chipping, driving, etc and work on the part of your game.

We've all been there! And we all will be again from time to time. There's been some good advice. Hit the range and work out the kinks. Look closely at where you are adding strokes and work on that area of the game.

Another thing I like to do when in a slump is go out to my favorite easy course all by myself, when it isn't busy, and work it all out. It's a good way for you to focus on all elements of the game. If it's an easy course, it's also a great way to get some confidence back. Helps reinforce the "oh yeah....i really do know how to play pretty good golf!"

Good luck! You'll get it back again.

if you play off 27 then a 54 for 9 holes isn't that bad.
you shot 3 over your handicap.

Focus on playing to your handicap instead of playing against the course for now.

I started with an 8, I wasted 3 srokes on flubbed shots from the rough. I think I was hitting 6 when I finally came on the green, and two putted for an 8. My next 8, I hit 3 into a green side bunker, then skulled it right over the green, two flubbed shots from that rough + a couple putts = 8. After that point, I got a par, which didnt even mean crap to be because my score was already down the drain. I was pissed off and unable to recover mentally.

Lower your expectations. You will be surprised how much pressure it takes off the mental part of your game.

Your off 27, not scratch. If I have a terrible round I try take some good points. i.e "I made a 10 footer on the 8th" or "my long game was good"

Just reading this, sounds like you need to work on your chip shots and bunker shots. In fact, work on your entire short game. As long as you have a decent long shots (e.g., driver and irons), the fastest way of lowering your score is the short game. Of course, if you are hitting 3 off the deck, then you would need to work on you long game.
