I am searching for some wedges... I swear I have looked around but would just want to know what wedge will give me good spin. My friend is letting me borrow his Nicklaus SW and I really like it, I have been hitting it near the green and find it pretty good.

I have been looking at the following:
1. Cleveland CG 15
2. Titleist Vokey's
3. Taylormade XFT

Out of all of those, which ones will give the most spin? I really do like the idea of switching out faces on the Tm wedges.

I haven't hit the TM wedges, but I wonder what that removable insert would do to the feel of the club. You really can't go wrong with anything from Mizuno, Titleist or Cleveland. Wedges are a matter of preference, and the spin differences will be minimal compared to your technique and impact characteristics. I'd buy based of of the look at address, setup (sole) and feel.

FWIW, i believe the new Nike VR wedges spin the ball as much if not more than the wedges you listed, but the right player can spin anything.

The wedge clubhead is only part of spin. The ball you choose is a big factor.

A Golf Digest training series from a few years back showed how to adjust playing different short shots according to your ball type: high spin, mid-spin, or distance.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I'm thinking of getting the Cleveland CG 12's DSG wedges. 56 and 60. Not too sure about the 60 but I have been hitting flop shots and would like to get this to keep the face a little more closed than usual when I hit a 56 degree on a flop shot, so the 60 seems to fit the bill I am thinking.. Help me out guys

P.s. just want to thank everyone here for all the replies and help you have offered in this post as well as older ones!

Just buy the one that feels the best
all top brand wedges kind of perform the same these days.
they're all good.
I dont like the DSGs though, theres something about the way they sit, they odnt help with flop shots at all to be honest, they arent angled right

I have CG 14s and Vokeys. I like the looks of the new groovs on the CG15s so I might have to give them a try.

I had a similar decision to make. I bought the Vokeys. I just liked wide sole and feel. The shop I was working with them didn't have them all in stock so 2 are on order (along with my new irons). I'm really looking forward to using the Vokeys.

What's in my bag?

Most modern wedges have similiar spins, I just prefer vokeys because of the sole grind, look, and feel of them. For some reason I can spin them more, probably through making better contact.

I hate the look of cleveland wedges also.

Well I went to go look at the Vokey wedges and I am pretty much sold. I am thinking of getting a 56.11, would that be good for most lies in sand and grass?

A typical SW is 56 degrees and is usually 11 or 12 bounce. So that club should do the trick if you are looking for a wedge to play out of the bunker.

I just bought a 54.11 Vokey yesterday. Chipped around the yard with it, can wait to get it on the course.

I use a Ping M/B 56 for both grass and sand and it's worked well for me so I can't see why the 56.11 Vokey wouldn't do equally well for you.

Would going with a 54 for sand and green approach and a 58 work instead of the 56, 60 combo? I hear a 58 is a little easier to control when popping the ball up and onto the green..
