Anyone here using TM balls? If so which ones and what do they offer you?

I posted a while back about softer balls and durability but I am just curious on the TM ball selection. I played the Penta on Tuesday and shot +9 on our par 30 nine hole and liked the way they handled on the green when chipping using both 54 and 58* wedges. Anything that plays similar off the wedges? TP, TP Red, TP Black?

i play the tp red ldp a good deal.. i would say it is similar to the prov1x, personally i feel i hit it a bit further than the v1x, but also get a bit more spin around the green with it. I am yet to play the Penta, i wold imagine if it spun a good deal, the tp black ldp would be the ball you want.

I started playing the tp reds last summer and love them. Other than greenside spin, I also like the burner tps. The regular burners play nice in the fall and winter when things are colder and greens are pretty soft.

I've been playing the TP Black for almost two years now and love them. I played the ProV1x prior to that. I also think I get a little more distance with the TM and just as good touch and spin around the greens. Best part is i can now pick them up at Target or Big 5 for $25 a dozen as apposed to $50 for Titleist or the new Penta. I played one round with the Penta and I thought it had to much spin off the irons, but it wasgreat around the greens. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have played all varieties since TM started producing balls again. For me, the Penta is the best. The trajectory and spin around the green are superior to anything else I've tried. The red is a close 2nd. But try 'em all. That's part of the fun, isn't it?

I got a few boxes of burners that I loved and quickly lost. That's why I have to stick with the Fuzz balls.

The TP Red and Black are similar to the PentaTP and about $15 cheaper. But you have to chose between the two....

A 20+ handicapper... and using the Penta! A total waste of money. A particular ball, or ball type, is not going to help a 20+ handicap player!

He never said he was looking for them to help him, he said he likes the way they handled off the wedges. Whats wrong with that?

Nothing wrong, but still a little silly. Handicap aside, I'm not sure how I feel about the Penta. I've played a couple, and it hits well, but feels like a marshmallow off the putter.

Well I'm better than a +20 and a higher handicap doesn't mean someone won't benefit from a better ball or be able to tell the difference because I know I for sure can. Anyways, thanks guys I'll try both red and black tp's.

Who are you to be the judge???? And you didn't even both to answer the question.

I play the Penta TP... great ball and it's the only premium ball which offers superior short game performance for average swingers without sacrificing the distance of a mid range ball. Best ball on the market for us mid swing speed hacks if you really want to be able to control the ball around the green. Cornbread's been eating too much cornbread.

Off the putter for some reason the Penta didn't feel right. Do the Red and Black feel similar or are they a little more crisp? I am thinking the Black may feel a little better or even the TP..

Although gettting better...(especially with the recent purchase of Maxfli's patents)... Taylormade balls are at the low end of the technology spectrum. I think they had 9% of the Golf Ball Market last year. Their LDP design improved the previous ball flight weaknesses, but they still trail Callaway, Titleist, Bridgestone and Srixon in term of performance and sales.
The Penta and the TP series balls have some of the worst driver accuracy testing results of any ball, due to the effects of their visable seam. We are shown a lot of spin test results but rarely accuracy results. I have seen such and the Seamed Taylormades ranked almost dead last in Driver accuracy out of 63 balls tested. I also have a friend who performs ball and club tests for a major independant company (they too use the Iron Byron machines) and he confirmed that the Taylormade balls lack the performance of the other major ball mfg's . He also confirmed that seamed balls are more erratic during flight.
I not trying to hack TM... just presenting the facts.

Noodle Brand is actually a Division of Taylor Made.
