So, would you agree that the movements and positions needed to hit a baseball out to right field (for a righty) are very much the same as those needed to properly strike a golf ball from the inside on a consistent basis?

A buddy of mine has never hit a baseball to right field (dead pull batter all the time), and has struggled forever trying to properly hit a golf ball from the inside. Would you say the two are related? (Yeah my buddy is me! LOL)

Yes! I had a powerful insideout swing and all of my homeruns were hit to center/righcenter. I got drafted, played at FSU, ect....

I guess because of my swing, I was able to come back after my baseball career and become a pretty good golfer. Growing up I had lots of coaches tell me that my swing was not fundamentaly correct because I had a lot of bat lag and pushed the ball to center and right. I never rolled over a pitch. I also never hit under .320 for a season. I beleive there is more than one way to skin a cat.

no, the two swings are in no way related...not to me anyway. The baseball swing, the arms control a lot of the direction of the ball but regardless of where you're hitting it, y ou should be driving your legs in that direction. In golf, you're not shifting your weight out to the right to swing from the inside...you're dropping your arms behind you instead of out in front of you.

Think of Derek Jeter (I'm a Red Sox fan, so this pains me to say), because he is one of the greats at hitting inside pitches to right field. He gets his hands in and moves them to the right. In to out.

There are differences though. As someones pointed out, a lot of the golf swing has to do with the hips and legs.

what he's doing is lagging the bathead, not pushing his hands out to right field. He wouldn't get a ball out of the infield if he was pushing his hands and arms in to out.
