I'm trying stack and tilt, so far only 6 rounds. Progress is slow. There's so much new to think about. Generally, I have fewer fats and thins but a fairly consistent push that is mostly straight, but fades more than draws. Suggestions?

Most likely your weight is not far enough forward. Actually, I take that back - most likely your hand path isn't in where it should be. You're probably "cheating" it by rolling your clubhead in while your hands stay relatively far out.

I was struggling with a similar thing until today. decided to try to bring my hands more inside and started hitting draws. If you bring your hands in more, should your ball position change or should it stay the same?

I do the Tee under the armpit drill for about five or six balls per bucket and with the exception of my Driver have not had a shot even tease right in weeks...

This was me my first few range sessions and round using S&T; principles. Hands in and make sure the handle in forward in your setup and it will most likely magically work itself out. As soon as I actually started doing that (not just *thinking* I was doing it), I started getting the baby draws (and sometimes hard/over draws if I forgot to also concentrate on my swing path) that were promised in the book.

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 10.5*
Hybrids: Nickent 4DX 3+, 4, 5
Irons: Ping G15 5 - PW
Wedges: Mizuno MP-R (52*, 56*, 60*)
Putter: Cleveland Classic 4 (34" and 35")

Just throwing this out because it may be helpful to someone....it has been a big key to me recently.

I wouldn't call myself a S&T; player, but I am working hard to employ some core principles -- the most important to me is staying centered over the ball on the backswing (as opposed to having some lateral movement back, which is a killer for me).

Anyway, there is one key swing thought that most help keeps me "centered" is try and fold my right arm as quickly as possible (keeping left arm straight, of course) -- I think this will promote a good "deep" hand path and allow you to keep your body centered over the ball (weight is still going back, but I avoid the lateral move back b/c I am not "extending" with my right arm the first couple feet away from the ball).

Anyway, this swingthougt does a lot for me and my ballstriking is at an all time high right now...

    • I have had the flu recently which gave me plenty of time to pore over Joseph Mayo’s instagram. I have hit a ton of shots each day on carpet and a little started how easy this shot is to make. Key thought for me is bring the club “no closer to the earth.” That really resonated with me. If I really steepen the attack angle I can hit my 58* lob wedge barely an inch or two off the ground and a repeatable distance. I don’t recommend this but tried it to what the end ranges are for angle of descent. I actually think a 62*-64* wedge might be even better for this shot.
