I broke 80 with a 76, without getting anything less than par and nothing over bogey.

6 Bogeys and the rest all pars.

Didnt play remarkable, but I didnt have 1 blow up hole and that was the key to this success.

Only one 3 putt, but no drives put me out of position for the green.

Doubt I will be this consistent again, so I better learn to either drain long putts, or hit a mid iron 3 feet from the hole to get those birdies.

Congrats! I'm in the same boat. 79 (+7) for me.

I'm happier with how I was able to pull it off though. I started poorly (+7 in the first 5 holes!) but managed to par in the remaining 13. The first time I've ever shot even par for a 9.

Like you, I can't say that it felt amazing or that anythiing in particular stood out during the round. It was just pure consistency, no blow ups, made all of the putts that I should have made, got up and down when I needed to, etc. If only it could be that simple every time out!

Yeah, but my next goal is not to break 70 but instead have fewer than 30 putts. I probably could of had a birdie, but I was so conservative for getting the ball closest to the pin for an easy 2 putt.

Congratulations! I had never broken 80, and hadn't even played for 19 months when I also shot a 76. That began my current obsession with golf. I imagine the days until your next round are going to start to feel longer and longer!
