Broke 90 finally !!!

If you got two birdies and had 40 putts, I assume that means you had 6 3-putts?

Like others have said, definitely need to get that down. How is your putting failing? Do you miss short putts? Is your lagging poor? Are you unable to chip on anywhere near the pin? Answer those questions and practice to improve it. Breaking 90 consistently shouldn't be too far off if your putting improves.

I finally broke 90 as well, shot an 84 Wednesday. It feels great to finally do it but I just need to remind myself that it will be ups and downs. I'm playin again Monday and I'm worried if I shoot above 90 I'll beat myself up over it...and I know I shouldn't.

As far as my game, what really helped me was confidence. I had confidence in myself to use a 5 iron off the tee knowing I'd have to go 5 or 6 iron for an approach shot but I pulled them off. I just felt like I could do it. I had 35 putts, nothing great, but I just did the little things that in the past I wouldn't do (great chipping helps as well as staying in the fairway).
