Yes, before every shot, whether it's on the range or in a round.

My shot routine goes like so: Choose my club, setup to my target, take 1 or more practice swings, then address and hit

Titleist 913F 15 (Diamana S+)

Titleist 913H 19 (Diamana S+)

Titleist Vokey SM5 (52,56,58) (DG XP-95)

I really make an effort to not practice swing at all especially with the driver, just a loose half swing is enough after getting my target line and I'm good to go. Just annoys the hell out of me watching someone take two or three full swings when it's their turn to hit and we have to watch them do this over done routine.Pitches/chips and sand shots are the exception you need to have a good feel for how your going to hit this shot. It's not that I'm one of those people who want to play in 3 1/2 hours every round cause I don't recommend it for the course I play it's just people waste too much time on practice swings versus making sure yardage and alignment are correct.

I do not take a practice swing on full shots. I stand behind my target, think about the elements, see what shot I want to hit, then go hit it.

The only time I take practice swings is when it's not a full shot, to get a feel for the power/lie.

I take 2 practice swings and both have to feel good.

I know a little on the subject of bio-kinetics and immediate muscle memory is a big thing.  Think of it like throwing a ball.

Also, My practice swing is exactly the same as my regular swing, and no practice swing with the driver.

Putter, Two strokes to gauge distance, step up and hit ball.

It's interesting, because normally I take 1 practice swing then hit.  But, I played friday in the rain and didn't bother with practice swings, and just grip'n ripped it.  I had the best ball striking I've had in a long time!  So, the next time i'm out on a nice day, I'll try not taking a practice swing and go for it, and we'll see if it works out again.
