I have a 56 Feel wedge that I bought 2 years ago. It's got me to this point, but on shorter pitches I have issues. It almost feels like I need to guide it because it's too light. I was talking to the guy at the range about it and he got me out some sand wedges from his inventory of used wedges he's been collecting for the last 30-40 years.

Well, that short session made me realize I need something heavy. He's letting me borrow this Walter Hagen wedge from the 70's. The head is the size of a book of matches, but I never hit better 25-30 pitches in my life. The weight just guides my swing on those short pitches.

Anyways, I want to get something newer, but it needs some WEIGHT. Any reccomendations?

The Titleist Vokey wedges feel extremely heavy to me compared to my Adams Tom Watson and Wilson wedges. The 60 deg I have is heavy as heck and sort of like a big chunk of iron on a stick, but it's also pretty old. You might want to check them out, but I'm not sure if they're heavy enough for what you're talking about, or if they're just somewhat higher swing weight than mine.

As zeg said, the Vokeys are on the heavy side. Also, you might want to check out the Heavy Wedge . It's gotten some very good reviews.

I agree, the Vokeys are heavy. So are the old Cleveland 588s.

I've saw a few ads for the heavy wedge, I'll have to check it out. Looks like golf galaxy is a retailer. I've looked at the vokey's too but, it's been a while. Thanks.

I agree with you, a heavier wedge is a must for me. I've tried every wedge and the Nike line, Vokey, and Cleveland wedges seem to be the best.
Try some out and see what fits you best.
Good luck!

i went from Clevelands to Mizuno MP T10's and I am having a hard time getting used to the fact that they are heavier. Great wedges though. You may love them.

I used to use cleveland wedges (very lite) and now use Titleist vokeys. It took me awhile to get used to the vokeys because they were much heavier.

I went from Hogan rivieras to mizuno mpt 10's, both are in the heavy range. I would definitely recommend the Mizunos. They used to look too thick but this iteration really fits my eye and the weight feels spot on. The shaft also has a bit to do with that.
