If you can find them, take a look at MacGregor Pro MT-DW wedges. This winter, Golfsmith ran a two-for-one special for (??) about $75.

Note: The MT-DW heads have onset , as opposed to offset - the leading edge is a tad in front of the hosel. Some of our ST posters play them; maybe they'll comment.

Focus, connect and follow through!

My MacGregor MT Pro DW 58/10* is probably my favorite wedge

ever . I just ordered a 60/8* from Golfsmith.

Any opinion on picking either the Tom Watson Classic ($95+7 shipping with budgetgolf) or the Adams Idea A3 ($90 with rockbottomgolf, free shipping with a code I found)? Does the TWC still win over the other? They had the Tom Watson PVD on sale as well for $70 on RBG, but that's now out of stock, and the sale ends tomorrow.

What's in my Tartan Precise TS-869 Bag:
Woods: Northwestern 1W, 3W, stock grip
Hybrids: 855 Graphite shaft 3H, 4H, Golf Pride Tour Wrap midsize grips
Irons: 855 R flex steel shaft 5-PW, Golf Pride Tour Wrap midsize grips
Wedges: PureSpin Tour Series Diamond Face 52* AW, 56* SW, 60* LW, Golf Pride...

I hit the Tom Watson set for a long time before picking up Vokeys. They were very good clubs for me.

The Tommy Armour forged wedges at Sports Authority looked ok. I don't know anyone that has used them though.

I know I already gave my opinion in another thread-I think you'll be happier long term with the Tom Watson Classic wedges (they were rated highly in Golf Digest's Hot List-if that means anything to you). Both Adams wedge sets, so I don't think quality is the issue-but I much prefer a blade for my SW and LW.

Thanks again for your opinions, I just wanted to slip into a (seemingly) more active thread to get some more input. I'm headed toward the Watson Classics from budgetgolf, since I won't have to make a rushed decision based on a sale that goes through today.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
