I've seen a few references to using plain masking tape to regrip. Makes sense, the grips are pretty tight on the shaft and would have plenty of friction on plain tape. No messing with two sided tape, and the pain in the butt of peeling off the nonstick membrane, easier to apply with a little air, easier to remove, etc. Just did a set of irons for a buddy and it worked great, tried to twist them and they didn't budge, we'll see how it works when he hits them tomorrow.

Yeah, I've experimented with the masking tape idea. I find it good, but I'm not sure how much torque it can withstand. I use this method to save old grips, but unfortunately, it doesn't work every time.

I've installed PURE grips on all of my clubs, and didn't use any tape at all. These grips are specifically designed so you can use them without tape.

Could work on other grips too I suppose, probably depends on the type of tape and grip.

I locked the clubhead in a gap in my workbench and twisted the hell out of the grip, I actually felt the shaft twist torsionally but the grip didn't budge, I think this should work fine.

I have used it in emergencies when I didn't have 2 sided tape. You just have to work quickly. The 2 sided tape is a lot easier because the solvent makes the tacky turn into a lubricant to install the grip and it gives you a little more time to align the grip properly.

No solvent used, I blow them on with an air gun.

Gotcha...you shouldn't have any problems. They won't budge.
