Just purchased one. It will be delievered on Monday. I will then use it next weekend. Until then I would like feedback from anyone owning this club.

My feedback is that you should really ask for feedback BEFORE you buy one.

Seriously though, my son has one and cranks it out there about 280. I prefer the i15 myself, but I am a hooker.

Lee Westwood is still using his on tour, he did not get on with the G15/i15

I had one a loved it and allthough I hit a fade, I sometimes go through a slicing faze, so like an adjustable driver to close the face while I work it out on the range.

Interesting--according to this, Westwood is using an 11* G15.

http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-equip...ood-my-golfbag Anyway, the G10 is still a great driver (I have a 9* with TFC reg flex), but it has been surpassed by some of the more recent drivers (including the Rapture V2 and G15) in forgiveness and perhaps distance. I am currently testing out a couple of drivers like the Cally FT-IQ and Mizuno MX-700 to see if they help me fight my fade/slice and get some more distance than my G10.

Equipment:
Ping K15 Driver (10.5º) - Diamana BB R flex; Ping G15 4 Wood (TFC R flex); Ping G15 20* Hybrid (TFC R flex); Ping G15 23* and 27* Hybrids (AWT R flex steel); Ping G15 Irons 6-GW (AWT R flex steel); Ping I-Wedge 54* Wedge; CG14 BP 58* Wedge; Odyssey Black Series Tour Designs #9 Putter

I have one... 9*, TFC stiff...it's a great club. I crank the thing with a soft fade about 270 yds on a pretty consistent basis.

Having not played in the past 15 yrs, would you recommend the G10 to someone returning to golf?

Yeah, I should got feedback before I bought it. But it was a decent price, I heard great things about Ping and am not thrilled with spending big bucks for drivers only a year newer. Besides, it has to be one heck of alot better than my 7 year old TM.

yes...it's a very good driver. However, I have alot of friends that swear by the Burners ('08) from TM. I think they are more forgiving.

No worries--you bought a heck of a driver. As long as you got the correct specs for you, it should be a huge upgrade for you. By the way, what loft, shaft, and shaft flex did you pick up? I tried a few different combinations before settling on my 9* TFC reg flex G10.

Try the Nike Dymo SQ Str8-fit (come down big time in price since the VR ws launched) you can set it closed 2deg, this helped my slice and once I fixed what was wrong I could set it back to neutral

I just ordered the 10.5*, regular flex, TFC 129D graphite. I took lessons last weekend and the pro said for my game now, so long a I get the correct flex, the will be ok. I am not that advanced where the correct kickpoint, etc will make much of a difference. And I figure 10.5 is ok. One pro told me I should get a 9.5*, and all I read is that slow swing speeds should get 11.5 or higher. As I said, this will be a big improvement over my old driver. I should have more control, forgiveness and distance. Then in a couple of years, if I can get my game in the 80s, or lower, I will spend the $$ on the latest and greatest, getting fitted for driver. Besides, I spent enought getting fitted for my new irons and wedges this season, which I felt was more important for my game.

I demo'd the Ping G5, G10, and Rapture v1 last season for a few range sessions and two rounds. I liked the G10, but liked the Rapture even more (better feel and overall performance). Plus, my course's pro shop gave me a good deal on the Rapture. Ping is quality - just need to spend some time with the specs for your game...

Thanks for the heads-up Ash. Interesting about Westwood.

About the Dymo SQ, I am sure that's a sweet driver, but I already have enough drivers around my house to make my head spin. :) Seriously though, the G10 with the TFC regular flex shaft in both 9* and 10.5* lofts have helped with my fade/slice. But I know it is more my swing than the club I am playing, so I need to work on that. For example, I was playing an '07 Burner Draw, which is probably 2* closed, and I sliced the heck out of it. So a closed face is not the answer for me.

Alohaed, I don't think you'll go wrong with the 10.5* TFC reg flex. You should know that Ping generally understates their driver loft, so my 9* is probably closer to 10*, and your 10.5* will likely actually be over 11*. I hit the 10.5* G10 pretty high, but could probably have stuck with it. But the 9* has a nice piercing trajectory for me. Good luck.

I can't predict how this will work for you. There are people who swear by equipment I can't hit very well and to be honest, I've hit the stuffing out of a few balls in my day. If a driver is right for your swing, you'll know it soon enough.

Do I like my G10? Longest driver I've ever hit. I still prefer my 3-wood or a persimmon driver for the control and the sound. Why are new drivers so loud?

Love my G10. I tried the G & I 15's, but I hit the 10 better. It's forgiving and has a solid sound to it.
Mine is 9* with a regular flex shaft.

    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
