does a good job of capturing some of the reason why I don't like - perhaps even despise - Phil Mickelson. He's an idiot and a jerk.

Tiger sees red when he sees that phony, fixed-on smile Phil wears between shots. Tiger sees red when he sees Phil play the role of the aw-shucks good-guy father of the year for the media. Tiger sees red when he hears all the false bravado from Phil about how he can blow it by Tiger when he needs to. A lot of players aren't terribly fond of Mickelson because, off camera, he isn't always the Perfect Guy that so many gullible fans believe him to be. Yet Mickelson got so cocky a year ago that he took a shot at Tiger -- and the company he represents, Nike -- when Tiger was at his slumping worst. Mickelson even managed to burn Golf Digest, with which he has a deal, by dropping this little bombshell in rival Golf magazine: "[Tiger] hates it that I can fly it past him now. He has a faster swing speed, but he has inferior equipment. Tiger is the only player who is good enough to overcome the equipment he's stuck with."

You're darn right Tiger beat him at Doral.

The jerk parts may not be visible to everyone, but they peek through now and then, and even did at Doral. Instead of tapping his one-footer in to clear the stage for Tiger, he made Tiger putt out. There was about a 0.5% chance Tiger would miss his putt, and 0% Phil would miss his. It's customary to let the tournament winner putt out last. Phil didn't do it. Tiger won in Phil's hometown (San Diego) and he won in Phil's sponsor's (Ford) tournament. Heh heh. I'm a Tiger fan not only because he's good but as much because he's never phony.

The thing I can't stand about him is he's such a corporate shill. Before he said the Nike comments he took a huge dig a callaway calling their iron designs "shovels." Now he's all "Callaway's so great . . . I'm bombing past where I was last year . . . blah blah blah" I just don't trust a word the guy says.

Man I am happy to hear that other feel the same way about Phil that I do. I am so tired of hearing about how awsome his game is. We will see at the players, and the masters. We could see it this week at Bayhill, but phil is too good to play with the 1,2,and 3 ranked players in the world. I have not been a Vijay fan, but have really started to enjoy watching him. I like the fact that Vijay, Tiger, Ernie, Love, Toms, Justin, and all the other class acts like to compete with each other. When is Phil going to step up and play regularly. Last year he quit early, and this year he acts like he is too good to play the regular events.

I like phil and until i know him personally, i wont venture a guess and say he's fake! I have no problems with tiger except his spoiled baby like expressions when things arent going his way. As far as being in a foursome with either one.....give me a guy like darren clarke that i could sit down with after and quaf a few ales and fire up a fine cigar with!

But in all seriousness, Tiger had to have shut him up about "flying it by" when he outdrove him on, oh, just about every hole - sometimes by 40+ yards, at Doral.

Wow let us know how you really feel. In response to all the comments. Is it opinion or fact that tiger has 0 black friends, went to SU cause it is a white college, and married cause she is white? I would say Opinion!! I would also like to say that you dont choose your friend cause of the color of there skin, you choose them because of the person they are inside. The same comment about skin color and the person goes to the caddie. Woods and William both said this about there relationship.

I would say that Vijay, Tiger, and Goosen dont portray themselves as the all round good guy like phil does. No fake smiles, nothing fake, they are themselves. For you to be critical of Ernie cause of what his father has done or does that is nuts. He is his own man.

No one ever said anything about Phil thinking any certain way because he is light-skinned, so why attack Tiger and call him a racist? Silly, silly, silly.
