I'm getting rather frustrated with myself. A very large majority of my drives are going 100 yards on the ground to the left. When I take a slow practice swing I noticed that the club face is closed and the face is severely delofted through the impact zone(makes sense). I know what I'm doing wrong and yet still can't fix it. Can anyone help? Thanks.

first make sure that you are not coming over the top...get that swing path inside to out. you could be closing the clubface to try to prevent a huge slice that would come from the over the top move.

then make sure that you arent moving your body way forward while you are coming down to hit the ball...if you totally sway forward that will make you deloft the clubface and all...it also means that your hands could be wayyy behind your body.

I posted my videos a few days ago and got very few comments. Guess I'm not popular enough. :)

I only have the FO right now.

Your grip is much to strong. In addition you bend your wrist during backswing.

As a result your clubface is completely closed already at the top of your backswing (clubface parallel to ground).

You will find tons of material if you do a search for "neutral golf grip"

DIRECTION: swing path

FLIGHT/SPIN: club face angle

If the ball is starting left, then you are coming outside-in, or over the top...whatever you want to call it. If it is TURNING in mid air to the left, then your club face is closed. Take these two things into consideration when diagnosing a swing problem. In your case it would seem that you are coming outside in, and if your ball is going toward the ground it is likely your club is either severely de-lofted or closed to the point that spin isn't the problem. Try keeping your right elbow closer to your body and take a weaker grip.

Fixed my swing! My grip and take away were the culprits. On the take away I was taking the club up too fast. Now I focus on taking the club back off the ground about 2 inches till the club head is just behind my back foot, then I bring the club up into a comfortable arm slot.

The improvements were dramatic. A few monster slices here and there but I was driving the ball very well.
