So during an up and down twilight round at a course i never played before, I hit two of my best shots ever.

Shot 1 - Par 4 (327yds)
- Awesome trajectory on my drive - starting out right and actually drawing back to the middle where I was aiming with above average distance that left me with a 20 yard shot onto the green for birdie.

Shot 2 - Par 3 (130yds)
- Pulled a PW back on a string about 6 feet leaving a very makeable birdie...that I missed : ( haha. My uncle says "I thought that was something they just added in on TV" Now I just need to figure out how to do it more often.

Won't sound like much to most of you, but I felt like sharing because I was pumped.

Shot 2 - Par 3 (130yds)

I remember my first backspin wedge. Of course, it was a PW from 95 yards at the time

It means you hit down on it with enough club-head speed to impart backspin, and didn't hit it significantly thin (if thin at all). Doing this more means you're improving your ball-striking, as long as you don't get into 1980s Norman spin territory.

No matter how good you are you will always love the feeling you get when the ball stops dead. To me seeing my golf ball hit the green and just stick is the best feeling in golf. Better than draining a putt, better than smashing a drive. Keep it going.

I also felt like a pro yesterday but actually for 3 shots in a row ;p

during a scramble at George Wright

Shot 1: Par 3 155 yards

Someone in my group hit the way back of the green and I rolled in like a 30footer with a strong left/right angle for birdie with the tournament guys watching.

Shot 2: 5th hole 400yd Par4 with a huge hill in the middle

I hit my like only really good drive of the probably 225 up the big hill. Then a 5 iron over the top and down the valley you couldn't even see the green from where I hit it. But when we drove up over the hill there it was like 5feet from the pin on the green. Holed it for back-back birdies.

Man I felt pretty good after those 2 holes.

I had 2 shots yesterday that felt and worked great.

Second shot on par 4, drove it right into the adjacent fairway, tall pine trees all the way down towards the green with a gap at the end. 160ish yards out and hit the most PERFECT draw of my life which sailed next to the trees then drew through the gap at the end onto the green 15 feet away. 2 putted for PAR.

Next hole, Par 3 171 yards. Hit a flush 7 iron that stopped 3 inches from the hole. Pretty gutted no hole in one, but a satisfying birdie

I hit a few shots that felt good yesterday with a couple standouts, but ironically the best drive of the day (by far) led to a bogey (approach too long, but right over the flag). I was -3 on the par 5s but that was due to really good second shots - only one good drive in the bunch.
