How much did you pay for that fitting? It sounds like in a local pro shop doing for club fittings where they do them exclusively for living. My buddy's son has worked in that kind pro shop for period of time, the shop is just plainly fitting clubs for you. It doesn't sell golf balls, gloves etc.

no...thats what a typical driver fitting is at just about any shops around where i live...

and its free (if you buy the driver or shaft there)...or at the most $30, if you don't buy from them.

i went to Golf Galaxy. spent a good hour or so hitting a bunch of different drivers with different shaft combinations that they already had prepped. Albeit, they didn't have the exact combo with the driver head but the important part was comparing the numbers from the shaft changes, which is drastic difference from one shaft to another. had 2 guys helping me out. went to pay and they said just pay for the shaft and called it good.

only time i got charged was when I got fitted for my irons, they charged me $30 for fitting since I didn't buy the irons there. If you buy the irons there, they'll do the fitting for free.

It was free, and it was done by a major club manufacturer, not a store. I was fit by their tour van, at the time, arranged for me by a friend who played on the Nationwide Tour.

I wouldn't get it done at a golf store, or trust the accuracy of their equipment. Paying $100 for a proper fitting... totally worth it if it helps or improves your game.

My driver fitting was not even close to the described experience. I spent hundreds of dollars at the driving range over about 3 years working with just this one Callaway driver. I adjusted my grip, gripping down (taking off 1/2"), playing it further up in stance, blah blah blah. Now it's one of the most confident clubs in my bag!

In all seriousness, I hit my driver roughly 10 times a round, it's the last club I'm going to go changing out all the time, spending money and frustration trying to find something that "feels good that day". Maybe I'm just being cynical.

I don't get the hostility. The dude plays to a 13, he is not on tour. If his fitting yielded a driver that improves his game, who gives a damn how much he was charged or how many shaft combinations he tried. If he is happy with his fitting, then it is an experience worth sharing.

agreed, it was basically a demo session in which he went with a stock club that worked that day.

Now don't get me wrong, as posted many many times, it certaintly pays to demo clubs, but that is not a fitting.

      I believe @GolfLug ask me to post my thoughts on it, but this for anyone interested on an unbiased review. I got the 4 hybrid with a Tensie AV Blue 65g R flex shaft.  This club had one requirement. hit the ball 180 yards. 175-178 is all I can get out of it and I am fine with that.  It did not come with a wrench. Two things about that. One, I have a wrench, two, I have no need to make an adjustment. I thought about adjusting it to close to a 3 to get an extra yard or two, but really no need to. Hits off the fairway with no issue and I took a few whacks out of the rough and seems to do its job. Our rough is not that bad so for any thick stuff I dont know. Bottom line it works. It does its job for me without issue. One thing that so far has been good is that it doesn't bleed off to the right like my driving iron did. It had a gentle fade to it that I had to compensate for when I aimed. I hit this pretty straight so far. Not too high of a ball flight. The shaft is a "mid launch" shaft. I did not Mevo this. The only number I cared about was max distance. If I was all over the place with it I would have tinkered with it and had the Mevo out, but no need. I hit about 40 balls or so with it on the range and then played. I like it , I might get a 5 now. They are $249.00 at retailers everywhere. New models are coming I'm told so that's why they are on sale. Sorry for the lack of technical launch monitor data, the end result was what I was looking at and it did it right out of the gate.
