I bought a chipping net a few weeks ago from target and was wondering what you guys thought about these? I try to get a nice arch on the ball to land it in the net softly (even though I rarely get the longer short shots in). I am adhering to Nichlaus in using my sand wedge for all my short shots. I bought this because when I practice on a green I feel I have no purpose (as opposed to the driving range) and I feel all my practice is wasted. I don't know how to waggle or swing because I don't know what distance I am going to hit it.

I have a bunch of practice balls and was considering going out to a field and practicing my short shots (which I typically hit too far or off target). I am considering bringing it to the chipping greens as well. What are your suggestions to practicting my short game/how to use this sucker or if I should use it?

I think chipping nets are great for practicing making your chips land in a precise area.

Don't mean this to be negative, but what's the benefit of a chipping net versus sticking a flag in the grass and trying to chip up close to it? It would seem the net would negate any spin feedback you'd get after the ball lands on the ground.
