I tried a midsize grip on my club with no tape and it felt awesome. One wrap feels good under a midsize too. I really want the red golf pride tour wraps but they only sell midsize in black. It sounds stupid to care about the fashion and not the function but something about looking down at red makes me feel better. lol.

So does anyone think building up the regular grip with 3 or 4 wraps of tape would be a bad idea as opposed to just getting the midsize grip in a color I dont like?

Also I have dynamic gold HL S300 shafts. .600 butt size. Should I get .60 grips or .580 and an extra layer of tape or what? Thats confusing me too.

Nope not a bad idea at all. I have midsize New Decades on my irons but got my wedges re-gripped and they used standard with 4 wraps. Feels just as good to me. As for the last question, I have no idea. I just take my clubs in and ask the local golf shop to re-grip them.

Thanks. So standard with 4 wraps feels the same as midsize with one wrap? Or close enough anyway right? I figured. thanks again.

It's either 4 or 5 wraps. Maybe try 4 on one wedge and 5 on another wedge, just to try them out. I doubt you'll much of a difference, but I would try it.

5 wraps + standard = Midsize

But if you need the size of a midsize I would think a midsize grip is better than 5 wraps + standard grip.

Slipping a .580 core grip on a .600 butt shaft will be awfully close to midsize without and extra tape. 4 layers of tape is going to affect swing weight some.

Midsize grips are also heavier and have some influence on swingweight......

I ordered .600 grips and I am going to blow them on with air so I can try one two three 8 wraps and see which ones I like better and remove etc etc..
