I meant Overton in my OP. Geeees.......... I am a dummy........only took 2 weeks to realise the snafu.

I think Overton will have a mental breakdown under the pressure.

Obviously Europe is going to win, even when in wheelchairs and both arms tied to their backs
Go team Europe go !

I'm dusting off the old Union Jack and buying leeks for the weekend. If the Euro's lose, I'll eat the leeks.

Actually, we might be in for a surprise. The euro's are trying to avoid hubris, but it's in the air.

hmmm, I wonder what goes well with leeks?

Har har har-de-har! We all had a good larf - thanks for the entertainment! But have a look at THIS: It could get rather testing in Newport, just as the Ryder Cup is reaching its nail-biting climax. Winds in excess of 200mph are forecast for Sunday afternoon by MetCheck. See http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...=Newport&day;=5 I hope theirs is a snafu as well! Im going to be there on Sunday and I don't want to watch my car blown across the Bristol Channel to Somerset (hotly pursued by Monty, no doubt)...

We all know europe will win, it's only a matter of how badly they'll thrash the yanks.

Mcllroy and Mcdowell will be together in the fourballs and they'll win their game.

Maybe paddy will find a bit of form....

I hope Tiger wipes his ass with Rory's face based on what I have been hearing. I am sure its golf talk all in good fun..or the media making a mountain out of a mole hill, but can't stand people who are cocky in the media.

How many of you think the captains will stick Tiger and Rory against each other in singles. Everyone is kind of begging for it..they should :)

I still wanna see the battle of the bad hair (Rory vs. Ricky). I think that would be a hell of a shootout.

But you want Tiger to win........?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

A few months ago I would have said Europe practically had it in the bag. But they've had a few setbacks since then and it's nowhere near as clearcut now. Harrington's form is a worry, as is Lee Westwood's injury. Ian Poulter has done literally nothing since he won the matchplay, he's been fighting to make the cut in most tournaments since then. Similar story with Graeme McDowell. Peter Hanson is a bit of an unknown quantity, who knows how he'll react to his first Ryder Cup experience.

I agree with this. Other than Kaymer and maybe Eduardo Molinari, who are the strong players on this team? Ross Fisher, Peter Hanson, Francisco Molinari? All are inexperienced and average European Tour Players.

As far as motivation, both Pavin and Montgomery are very passionate guys. I think both will make excellent captains.

I sure hope not..I know Jeff...I sincerely hope he does well.

Yeah, I didnt mean it to slam him, he just looks like he is in pure agony under pressure.

But have a look at THIS:

Winds forecast has now been revised down, from gusts peaking at 285mph to 12 mph.

I don't know if I'm relieved or disappointed.

Likely to be by more if the wind really blows...

That doesn't look like much fun.

Stretch.

    • Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.
    • Day 117 12-7 A bit of chipping practice today. Full swing- hit some real balls to see where Im at.
    • Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.
    • I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.
    • Day 433 - 2025-12-07 Got some work in after Junior Elite before a night of sports (and the return of my wife!). Backswing work. Similar to what a lot of my juniors are doing.
