So I'm trying to get rid of my wrist flipping. It mostly has to do with me trying to add power at impact, which results in poor contact and very high, short shots. I guess I don't really understand the role the wrists are supposed to have at impact. Last year I successfully got rid of my flipping by hinging my right wrist at the beginning of the backswing, but I don't know if I am doing it right. I have tried hinging during the backswing and at the top of the backswing but I can't seem to get my left wrist straight when I do this.

At impact, is the right wrist supposed to-
Do nothing (Stay hinged)?
Rotate?
Unhinge?

When is the right wrist supposed to hinge?
At address?
At the beginning of the backswing?
During the backswing?
At the top of the backswing?
On the downswing?

It should unhinge from the top of the backswing, but not so far that the left wrist cups. It should happen as a result of gravity though, not releasing or rotating anything.

When is the right wrist supposed to hinge?

It starts on the backswing, going all the way to the top.

Quick note: The left wrist is not fully uncocked on this picture, it's more level. Uncocked would move it more down.

Thanks for the responses. I have had a little bit of success adding power by rotating the wrist. Sort of like hitting a topspin tennis shot. But it seems to be at a loss of accuracy.

I think I'll just have to practice this with pitches and half shots with my wedges and work my way up to full swing. The wedges seem to be affected the most. My SW and LW only go 50 yards no matter if I hit them softly or as hard as I can. My drives average 235 but some days my 7 iron only goes like 115.
