Not bashing peoples swings, at the the end of the day I believe our dear Logman has a good heart and isn't mean spirited, but I do seem to recall some belittling of the teaching abilities of Mike and Erik which is what I was refering to. It is possible I'm mis-remembering or confusing Logman with another poster (in which case I apologize) but I'm pretty sure I recall correctly.

FWIW y'all know I'm one of Logman's staunchest defenders!

Haha!! and yes,.......well no, I didn't belittle the teaching abilities of the two gentlemen involved........just what they were teaching......so yes, I think. Your right Ernest, no problems !

hold your gun.

You're pro? You cant even turn 90 degrees and finish off properly. You're like doing punch shots on every swing how in the world. You do realize that right?

What have golf become nowadays. really.

Yes bomerman, I'm a teaching pro. Β Gotta say, these comments are pretty funny. Β Here's a swing from today, looks like I'm getting a 90 degree turn

Trying so hard to console yourself by pulling all these pictures out. I mean nobody's perfect right?

1 - Your right leg after finishing your turn is still planted on the ground power is still not yet released?

2-

(I'll let the pictures do the talking?)

3- Regarding your flat swing...

You swing back flat. You shift your swing plane steeper and strike downwards. If i were to draw a circle around both your pictures you have uploaded how much movements you have made in your upswing is very drastic.

Through the pictures you can see that the swing plane remains the same through out the swing.

If i had the programme and time and a faster computer i would draw it out for you but i cant so you more or less get what i mean? I'm sure you're a teaching pro and understand what im saying!

4- Regarding your flat wrist my mistake and you do have some good solid impact!

It's all good fun debating about golf , just my opinion once again if it's not your cup of tea then of course nevermind just ignore it !

Hope it's all good!

Friends? haha

Found a better picture!

You go back on the Green line then you go up to the red line and start your down swing!

Cheers

But bomberman, Don't you reckon that Address posture is just for looks. I've seen plenty of "white belt brigade" guys look like world beaters when they stand there but they swing the club with spaghetti arms.

And anyway, being a teaching pro is being a teacher, it's looking and understanding a swing and then giving instruction.........he's not a tournament golfer.

I'm doing a drill to bank the right foot so that may be what you're seeing with the "right leg planted". Β Regarding the posture, this would be a good thread to check out. Β There's good standing posture and then there's good golf posture, two different things. Β http://thesandtrap.com/t/56069/good-golf-posture

My position looks similar to the golfer (Edoardo Molinari?) you posted

My shaft plane also returns to a similar positions as Molinari's.

First of all! i love your quote! haha

Yup I agree but you have to agree that set-up and address during a golf swing is crucial to the swing as well! Like for example a bad posture will lead to many bad habits in time to come....

Over-swing , close chest , weak grip , chicken wing ?

I guess whatever makes your swing works?

And yeah he's a good teacher from the pictures and explanation he uses just throwing in my thoughts! He can probably play well too anyways

It's similar that's why you can strike the ball clean because you've been practicing but coming over the top when striking. Your video in slow-mo is quite obvious

You're attacking on a different plane... thats all im saying , but of course if you can shoot 69 with that then go ahead!

Virtually every PGA Tour player "comes over the top" if you define it as where the lead arm is on the backswing versus on the downswing.

This is funny because if you look at professional swings... mike's swing plane coming into the ball is a lot closer to address plane than most touring professionals.. lollerskates.

Look up wdefrancesco on youtube. he shows lots of analyses and draws lots of lines on lots of swing. see where pros are at impact with regard to the address plane.

Has nothing to do with me being a pro, I've been able to learn from some of the best instructors in the world (iacas/Erik is one of them). Β Instructors that have a deep knowledge of physics and biomechanics, analyzing what the best players REALLY do, not teaching based off what players felt they did.

I'll just add that Mike does a great job of making a statement and then backing it up with the WHY part instead of just blathering on and regurgitating half-cooked advice from Golf Magazines.
