Callaway X-Forged Irons 2009

I currently game these. I got them last Nov., and have to say they were a really good decision for me. I was looking for more feedback than my previous SGI irons provided and these fit the bill. I can tell exactly where on the club face the ball has been struck now which I couldn't do before. I've tried a lot of clubs both before and since getting these and the only ones that have come close to these are MP-68's, but that is just my opinion, YMMV.

Oh, one other thing, if you hit them on the sweet spot they are like butter, but off center hits will punish you. When I first got them last year I played them in 35* weather. I can tell you that bad mishits at that temperature really sting, enough to make a finger or two go numb.

Yeah i was looking at them for a friend because he shots like Rac LTs
he's about a 4 cap and i told him to get some new clubs and thought these would be fitting

Love em. Some of the easiest and most forgiving players cavity backs I've played. When I startd looking for a new set of irons, I was looking at Mizuno MP-62's, Titleist AP2's, Titleist CB's, and the Callaway X-Forged.

Loved the feel of these X-forged. I'll put these up against those other irons any day. Forgiving but very much workable. Great feel and looks imo. Especially for $500, its a steal.

I paid approx. $525 at Callaway Pre-owned for mine last fall (noticed the price has gone up since then). They were marked as "Like New" and to be honest, they looked like they had never been hit before. Mine have Project X Flighted shafts.

I've only hit them at a demo day, but they were really solid. I would consider these myself if looking for new irons.

Couldn't disagree more. The X-tour line are basically a more workable Callaway X-series iron. None of the 'feel' of a players iron IMO.

These are great irons. Very soft feel on pure shots, very workable, and somewhat forgiving for a players iron due to the CB design and the perimeter weighting despite the small sweet spot and/or the short distance from the sweet spot to the hosel. If they were good enough for Graham McDowell to win the U.S. Open with them, they're probably good enough for you to go out and shoot in the 80s

Yeah my buddy said he'd go hit them in the fall sometime and i told him i can pick them up when i'm in oregon and bring them up.
They look pretty damn sweet

I have tried these and really like them about as much as my MP-57 clubs, but the only thing bothering would be, that if you were to trade them in a few years the value might well be about zero....

Purchased these irons in 2020 from globalgolf -- yeah, that's right, this Summer, 2020.

$200. My first set of irons.They arrived in great shape (declared to be "mint", which they were.) I suspect they sat around in a garage or attic for some years. Great to learn on. The mishit 'punishment' or UN-forgiving nature of these old irons is just what I want to learn how to hit irons correctly -- though, in fact, they have their share of 'forgiveness' given that they are cavity back. Meanwhile, I held the 7 iron up directly against an Apex 19's 7 iron I picked up used (with graphite shaft). Heads are nearly identical. Certainly in shape and design, though I suspect the weightings are slightly different in the attempt to add more forgiveness to the Apex 19s over the 2009 X Forged ones. I may just swap out the 105g regular shafts for graphite and keep using them. Though tempted to go for some new Apex or Apex Pro.
