Ok so i know the quality isnt anywhere near good. This is my swing. Over last winter I worked on the One Plane swing methods of jim hardy. I ran into issue when spring hit and took lessons from a local pro who wanted me to swing more upright and shift my weight. I didnt like it but I gave it a shot. I would like to give the ONe plane swing a try again. So this is my first day of going back to ops. there are no OPS instructors local to help me form this swing so i am going at it again myself. Thanks for any help.

oh yea and the first swing ended with a good ball flight on target. the second shot flew a foot or two off the ground.

I'm not qualified to give you advice on your swing, sorry. Just an observation, I'd agree with the local pro about trying a more upright stance, I don't think my back could handle a round of golf with your stance.

I think if you just have less knee-bend and stand closer to the ball, that give you a more upright posture. Then just work on your tempo and finishing on your left side more? I really like your swing (on plane).

Thanks guys. I actually started re-reading "The Plane Truth" and that is why i am standing further from the ball and bent over like that. I guess maybe I went too far. Not Suprising. I tend to do that. My main issue is that when i first read the book last winter and tried to implent the ideas my ball striking improved greatly by not shifting my weight. But when i started taking lessons this spring that was the first thing my instructor wanted me to do. I really dont like the weight shift. So I wanted to go back to noweight shift one plane swing. So i will give a more upright stance a try with still trying to implement OPS theory. thanks again guys. I need to get better video.

    • I think in fairness what he means is Tommy's chances to win PGA Tour events are fairly similar in number to Rory's chances to win the Masters. I don't think he's remotely saying that Tommy and Rory are in the same league. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I took the comment as meaning if he keeps giving himself chances to win then eventually he will win one. Rory had a thing in his head about the Masters and won anyway. Tommy has a thing in his head about PGA Tour events. They do seem fairly analogous to me.
    • Don't get me wrong, I like TF from a nice-guy-next-door perspective but I was surprised at the nerves he showed on the 2nd putt on 17th. That was unmistakably a stroke of a player who had already submitted to the writing on the wall. Honestly I would not expect that out of a veteran tour player. I would have liked to continue rooting for him but gotta see a bit more fight from him. Rory could be reasonably accused of being a head case but he is a fighter. Big difference.
    • Um no. Rory Wins PGA Tour 29, EU 19, Majors 5, FedEx Cup 3 Tommy PGA Tour 0, EU 7, Majors 0, FedEx 0 He may win eventually, but he’s not in the same league as Rory.
    • Like Colin Montgomerie? 😛
