I'm a Leafs fan. Got fmaily in Toronto. They always seem to be low in the standings, but the fans and energy at the Air Canada Centre is great! Last night they beat the Sens 5-1, winning the Battle of Ontario in Ottawa. So, they win the border battle games! HATE THE HABS!!!!!!!

Would you really stick it out that long? If we end up with "Nashville v. San Jose" and "Boson v. Tampa Bay" then I'm pretty much done with hockey until next season.

I'm fine with the Caps playing, but lets get some new teams playing. This is the Pens 2nd appearance in the 3rd Classic. At least they won't be in it next year. I'd like to see the Leafs vs the Habs or Leafs vs. Sens.

It's their second in the fourth, and as a Pens fan, I can tell you that all of us agree that the first time was enough. We're also tired of the fake rivalry. If the Pens have a rivalry, it's against Philadelphia, not the Capitals simply because they have a player who almost rivals Crosby as the best in the world.

Who says they need or want one?

The Heritage Classic, which predates the first "NBC Winter Classic" by a few seasons, is being held again in Calgary (vs. the Habs - first one was Habs versus Oilers). No matter how much Leafs fans wave the blue and white flag, the truth is, outside Ontario, the Habs are a better draw.

Im a huge Rangers fan and I have heard rumors that New York Rangers may end up getting the winter classic 2012 but I cant figure out where they would play it?? I wish Yankee Stadium but it cant be held there due to the Pinstrip Bowl....So I guess the choices would be Citi Field-Cental Park(unlikely but that has been circulating because of the special anniversary coming up)-Meadowlands..Also who should they play Devils-Islanders-Philly-Boston-Washington, or another original six team???

I wouldn't care who they did it with. It'd be sweet to have something like this for more than four episodes for any team.

The NHL could do something like this for a few hundred thousand dollars per year, and stream the content free on their site or let people buy them in iTunes or something. It'd be great. Might not be profitable, but would really help people become stronger fans of the sport.

A small sampling of teams / rivalries I'd follow.

The Phoenix Coyotes 2009/2010 season - what a roller coaster with all their ownership problems. A great season, finishing fourth in the conference to host a playoff series against the Red Wings of all teams, then taking them to game 7.

Chicago Blackhawks rise to the top and then based on some management mistakes having to dismantle the team over the summer - followup story.

Former Blackhawk, Dustin Byfuglien (sp?), switching (back) to defense, leading Niklas Lidstrom in defense scoring, and potentially leading the Thrashers into the post season. How lucky are they that Kovachuk turn down their contract offers?

The New Jersey Devils, speaking of Kovy - Oh man, what are they doing?!?

The San Jose Sharks - actually I wouldn't watch that.

The Maple Leafs (yeah, I know, gross) v. the Boston Bruins. Watching Ron Wilson twist in the wind when many of their problems are the result of bad decisions by Brian Burke (arrogance personified). All the concussed Bruins, perhaps karma for all the elbows to the head their 6' 8" teammate throws nightly.

They don't really have a choice right now. That contract and, all the BS that came about because of it, has their hands tied to one player for a long time. On the other hand, I have a really good feeling about the Stars right now. They've drafted well, and they're really flying under the radar. Definintely wouldn't want to face them in round 1, especially with another proven leader/winner in the lineup.

I would have loved that! The series was awesome this year but it was about two teams I don't particularly like, you could even say hate haha.

My favorite part of the series was when Crosby was talking about his fight with Niskanen that was pretty funny!
