Ok.. so at my lesson my golf pro told me for the second time that my hips sway back and forth during my swing. For some reason this seems very hard for me to quit doing. He told me to imagine my hips were in a barrell and they couldn't move back and forth. He also told me to try to plant the inside arches of my feet to the ground. Have any of you had to work on your hip sway? If so did anything help you make improvements on this?

Yeah i had it most people do cause its the only way to feel a backswing when you first start

Wider stance, bend at the knees more helps you rotate without swaying
remember that your head/chest can move off the ball but make sure your weight isnt shifting back
its a weird feeling at first

Put a stick in the ground beside your outside right foot that lines up leaning on and exactly as your flexed right leg leans (angling slightly toward the target -- the angle that your lower body triangle has at address.) During your entire swing, there is no need for any part of your right leg to move left or push against that stick -- keep you leg and turn all within the braced angle of that stick. Then on the downswing, notice how far forward of that stick your hips have moved... pretty instructive.

swing with your feet together, if you sway you will lose your balance and fall down.
