Reports this side of the pond that this fella is buying my beloved Liverpool Football Club.
We have had bad experiences with American owners with Tom Hicks and George Gillette,so what can we expect from this man?

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him

He's a smart guy. I've met him a few times and he can come across as a little bloodless in person, in the typical financier mode. But he's been an excellent steward of the Red Sox -- who I can assure you are as much of a religion in Boston as any football club is in England. Henry and the other main NESV investors, a couple of whom are colleagues of my wife, were sensible enough to hire good business management and good team management at the Sox and then pretty much let them have their head to build and run the ball club. There've been ups and downs, but I think you can fairly say they've made the fans happy while making themselves a few more fortunes.

He won the Red Sox two World Series after 86 years of nothing. His ownership group has brought amazing upgrades to the oldest stadium in baseball (Fenway Park), in addition to maintaining the second highest grossing team-owned sports cable network in the country. He also is part owner of a successful NASCAR team Rousch-Fenway Racing and was the producer for That '70's Show.

You're saying he's ultimately responsible for Ashton Kutcher? I take back everything nice I said.

Aww cmon Kutcher is allright. Kelso was the funniest character on 70's show. That scene where he went to jump over a table and missed and actually wanged his shin so hard it started to bleed haha his reaction was so good they left the scene in the show. I crack up whenever I see taht.

Yanks Out!!!!!

Yanks in? This American Liverpool supporter is hanging his head. Lmost ashamed. I've been supporting the Reds long enough to have a dog named Fowler, but it has been tough lately. Decent match n Naples midweek, some of the kids held their nerve well, and three points today? A start I guess.

I have full reason to believe the new owners are NOTHING like our friends Tom and George.

Anything will be better than the previous owners, and honestly I'd rather have it be the BoSox owners than yet another Oil sheik/tycoon or chinese conglomerate. At least they are somewhat versed in sports... if the red sox actually count :P Part of me thinks we need to stop putting so much damn faith in Torres, I love the guy and he's a helluva player, but we can't count on him every freakin game.

    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
