Hmm, $200 plus is sketchy at best. You could buy a nice driver for that kind of money...

It's showing less than $100 on the link I posted... says it's regular price is $299, which is what most clubs showcase. I think I'm going mostly for the look of the club. I just like the vintage look to it.

I agree that the vintage look to it is nice. I also was seeing just under $100 for the price. I suppose if you have cash and like it, it is your opinion that matters.

However, I would much rather pick up a Ping Eye 2 Persimmon and possibly refinish it.

Would rather have the real thing than that knock off. My guess is for performance is not as good as the new metal drivers and maybe would not out perform the true wood drivers. Anybody can put a higher price on something then mark it down for sale. In my experience cheap clubs perform like cheap clubs.

Jeez....how much does a 460cc wood clubhead weigh?

Probably feels like swinging a boot on a stick.

If you need a good wood driver, go to louisville golf. Or grab a macgregor or wilson wood.

You'll be looking for a long time to find a PING made from persimmon.

RE the OP's question: I'd rather put a real vintage driver in the bag than a look alike (especially one > 2x the size of a vintage driver) since it may look funny as it started to show signs of wear. Like laminate flooring looks when scratched - hey that's not wood!!

      Day 8 (28 Jun 26) - Worked with face position at address and overall setup - open/neutral/closed - and setting up for resulting shot shapes - using 8i and hard foam balls.  It was abbreviated as the thunder began to rumble. Got in about 20 swings before calling it.

      Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
