Hey everyone does anyone have any ideas or input on how I can get my left arm parallel to my shoulders in my backswing. My arms are staying connected and my right elbow is staying close to my body I just have a hard time getting my left arm parallel to my shoulders. I do the drill where you put a headcover under each armpit to keep the arms "connected" but I am having a very hard time getting the left arm parallel...any suggestions?

You left out some critical information. Is your left arm steeper (hands too high) or flatter (hands too low)? Got a picture of your position at the top?

The first picture as per my instructor is WRONG:

This is where I need to be, any ideas on what I can work on to get it closer to this:

You said your arms were staying connected, but in the first image they're not nearly as well connected as in the second.

You can turn your hips on the inclined plane more. Golfers will feel that they have to "lift" the more flat their hips turn or the less their hips turn.

Your wrist conditions are different in the two shots but that's more likely to be a result of the elbows, pressure points, arm planes, etc. than anything else.

So you can demonstrate getting into the proper position. Now you just have to figure out how to get there during the swing.

any good drills you have to help me do this? The first picture is actually one that was taken from only my second lesson so my posture and arm's connected as become much better since then....

Do it slowly in a mirror (big glass windows act as mirrors). I haven't seen a video so I don't know how you're getting into the positions now...
