That I know of he's not contracted to use 100% scratch equipment, just like any other pro it may just be a number requirement. If I remember right he mentioned that instead of being paid to use their equipment he instead asked to become a part owner or something of the company as well to be involved in the R&D; side as well as the face of the company. Lots of players have say a Taylormade driver, Ping 3 wood, Adams hybrids, Taylormade irons,Titelist Vokey Wedges, and some brand of putter regardless of sponsor company.

yea I believe he is a part owner and has alot of input and say into the company. Looks kind of bad though when your not playing their irons especially when thats Scratch's bread and butter.

I dont know any Taylormade sponsored folks playing with a titleist or Ping Driver for that matter because Taylormades bread and butter is their drivers.

Maybe he is doing some R&D; (i.e. playing new clubs to get ideas for Scratch).

thats not a long iron in his hands, its pretty clear its the new ping s56 irons. I guess this year he played like a brand new different set of scratch irons for each tournament. I think he just likes to switch around alot.

hes been quoted as saying that he doesnt want the normal contract under a company where he is getting paid more to play their clubs than actually playing golf because he didnt feel the pressure to actually play good when he was sponsored by ping and oakley. If he lost then it was ok, or if he didnt make this putt it was ok because he was getting a 3 figure salary from a sponsor on the side. so he didnt want a sponsor. In fact I watched it say that, so maybe thats why he doesnt want to feel bound to play only one companies irons

Ryan is a big ol club "HO"
if i had to guess, as a long time PING staff member
tinkering w the new S56's to try an incorporate some ideas for his next set of Scratch irons

as a part owner of Scratch, not a bad idea
they make nice irons, but i think could use some new technology...even if they have to borrow from PING !! hahah!

I'll have to ask my younger sister about that one.

S. God produced the first adjustable driver. The Nike version came out around the same time as the R9. TM was definately not the trendsetter here.

It's a bit different when you don't have any confidence in the clubs of the company you are a part owner of. Scratch make irons. At least now we might be spared some comments on how "cool" these clubs are because Moore obviously no longer thinks they are. Still trying to work out what could make a golf club "cool" though........

It's not even happening, so why are we running with this idea just because someone here speculated?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
