Was bagging on the folks who were snobbing out the Odyssey. And by the way...my putter I got for virtually nothing, with an insert I've always pined for because of the roll it puts on the ball.

I think the Scotty-phile, putter-collecting phenomenon is pretty damned ridiculous. I'm for people doing whatever makes them happy as well. However, I see a lot of terrible players with 130 dollar putters that are 300 bucks standard, then all tricked out. Meanwhile...they're hitting it 40 times a round. Conversely, one could see it as money well-spent.

I was kinda feeling a bit smug myself about the putter craze( I have never paid over $35 for a putter), but then got to thinking a bit.

I have had the putter in my sig for a little over 30 years. A golf buddy of mine actually gave it to me, but at the time I think it was around $40. The set of irons in my sig, I got new around the same time for about $260 for 2-PW. A new set of Wilson FG62's are around $900 for 3-PW, so say $1,000 for 2-PW.  That would make the putter around 150-160, so 180 for the regular version of the Odyssey is not that bad.  In days of $500 drivers, I don't guess $250-300 putters are that far out of line.  I too wish I had bought a Scotty Napa California when they were new!
