Lee Westwood or frozen picture

I just noticed how motionless and for how long lee stands at address before his backswing. A couple times I actually thought the broadcast had frozen. I have never seen anything like it. Almost like he's hypnotizing himself. Anybody else notice this?

yeah he is the only player I've seen do this. But he does it every shot. Most people that stand over the ball like that can't play, IMO. Oviously it works for him.

It's a part of his style. Like the jerky pre-swing move of Stenson, the grip it and rip it style of Cabrera or the high ping stuff JB Holmes does.

Any more than 5 seconds over the ball and too many thoughts creep into my head about what im doing. I have to pull away and go through my routine again.

I noticed that recently myself. I used to be a major offender at this but am much more efficient at prepping myself now and it helps keep my mind clear. Not everyone is the same of course - whatever works.

I never paid attention to it but if my mind is not throwing a "I don't feel right" message, I can stand over my ball and focus for a bit (longer than normal) and hit a fine shot. I often do it when other people that are not in my group are suddenly paying attention during a my tee off.
