I am in the market for a couple hybrids. After shopping around I came across the Nickent 5dx hybrids on ebay. Since the company has went out of business these clubs are reasonable and seem to have good reviews. Anyone played these?

Haven't played them personally but friends use them - I've heard nothing but positive reviews from them.

I just got into golf in the last few months only working the ball at the local driving range and because of the prices of the nickent clubs I bought a 5 hybrid and a set of there 3dx hybrid irons. these clubs are both a good looking package and straight hitting clubs. I like the brand and am sorry to see it went south. I searched the internet extensively for info on these clubs before buying since I really had zero knowledge on golf equipment. All the reviews I could pull up on these clubs were positive about the brand and product so I bought them, it was also hard to borrow clubs since I am a lefty. The 5 hybrid sets up good at address and was an easy club to get used to and to connect with.

hope this helps, Frank

I am currently gaming the Nickent 5dx hybrid and love it....most forgiving/long hybrid i've played to date....buy it you won't be disappointed....it's at a discounted price anyways what do you have to lose?

I've been knocking my friends around the range and they work great for me at a 20+ hdcp and my friends a 2.5 and he loevs em so.. yeah. I need to add a few myself. I dropped my 5 wood and Im going to get a 20* or 19* 4dx. I think I read somewhere the 5DX were harder to hit.

I have 4dx and 5dx clubs. I love the 4dx - they're easy to hit with a nice flight. I cannot hit the 5dx clubs. I am not sure why - my friend who is a 2.x index tried them out and said they were fine. I tried again at the range and...fail. I should list them for sale cheap, they aren't working for me.

If you decide to sell your 5dx clubs let me know. I think they are what I am going to buy.

the 5dx are the best hybrids I have ever hit. I play the 3 hybrid. It's extremely easy to manipulate trajectory and shape shots. However, I have never tried the stock shaft it comes with. Something about the weighting makes it feel like the club is on a rail through the whole swing.

    • Day 189 - 2025-04-07 Busy day of editing a podcast but I snuck downtown to hit some balls on the 4th hole at Augusta National. Throwing is tough. Gotta make myself do it though. The reward is there.
    • Day 261: did a stack session.
    • Hi all. I've joined as a TST sponsor and while I don't intend to bombard your forums with product plugs ad nauseum, I wanted to put a bit of philosophy behind how I've trod this path. Although I've only been playing golf since COVID, I've realised there are minute changes in golf setups that impact performance like no other sport I have played/contested in my life. Recently I made a super small change to my grip (using a trigger index finger on my trail hand) that has improved my ball striking dramatically. It blows my mind. I love being so involved in something that my spare moments are spent analysing how I played and how I can improve. (I recently looked at my stats and my worst pickup holes are Par 5s - I actually play the lowest index holes better than the rest - what he heck?? Mental game after bad shots and concentration needs work there methinks) And when the small changes matter so much, we need to ensure there is a strategic approach to improvement. Incremental change is critical. Don't deviate from what is known without understanding that any change affects another. This is where the concept for my training aids was born. Something Erik shared a long time ago - The Virtue of being a Stupid Monkey - stole way too much of my spare time this week pondering. Do I want to know WHAT to do, or do I want to know WHY to do it? It is indeed the what. I've always been a "Try it, and if it works, keep doing until something better springs to mind." A sore back or knee will ruin your round. Do you want to to know how to play around it, or do you need to understand why it's happening? I'll go into more detail on this soon. In the meantime, here's a video that wraps up the basics of SwingMate, the flagship product. Thanks for having me!
    • Possibly, deffo trying to weaken my right hand somewhat. Left hand I believe is fine as I'm mostly fingers there with grip under the fat pad. But my lesson tomorrow will hopefully shed some light
    • I'm not sure.  What could this do that any of the documentaries on this dude haven't already done? I will say, I remember this unfolding in real life back in the day. My sister and I watched this as it happened. Then we heard about the fact that the studio wasn't going to pay him. But then they finally did pay him.
