the V2's are on sale here in Eh-Ville for $15/doz

If you don't like a clicky putting experience, a Scotty Cameron is an interesting choice. Just sayin'.

After Golfsmith, I went to a locally owned golf shop in my area and they had Pentas at $32/dz.... if I had seen those before I bought the Nikes, I may have done that... Still the Nikes were a full $10 cheaper so I can't complain... Hopefully I'll play today and not loose a crapload of balls again.

I got a chance to go out and play 18 the other day with the Tour D and I gotta say that I really like it. If it wasn't for too many three putts and a hole where my short game completely left me I would have broken 90. I feel like I am getting back some of my lost confidence which is definitely good. As promised, here is my take on the Tour D (as compared to the Gamer V2).

Off the tee, it is pretty much as long as any other ball was for me... more side spin on it than the Gamer, but not too much... just enough to be noticeable. Approach shots checked up a bit quicker than Gamer (due to the increased spin) but again, it was just barely enough to really be noticeable. Around and on the green, the Tour D felt softer to me than the Gamer did, which I liked. The biggest difference to me was durability; with the Gamer I could easily play 18 with the same ball (so long as I didn't put it into the drink or desert), with the Tour D I'd probably change it after 9 holes, if I had deeper pockets I might do it more often than that.

At $22/dz this ball is a steal... even though it's only $3/dz more than the Gamer it really works out to be a bit more because of the durability... still worth it in my opinion though.

Or, go out on a day when play is light and do a nine-hole test: Play Gamer and Tour D, alternating first and second tee shots, and see if they differ in performance. Also, does one fit your game better?

Favorite thing to do in the fall by far.

Go with 2 (or even 3) ball tests. Play a 1 man scramble out there and see what ball scores the most. It's how I pick my balls for the most part. And gets me to score in the low 80's without fail

Waiting out the 2 feet of snow that just dropped on the course....
