R9 3 wood

I currently have a nike SQ 3 wood. It feels nice and looks nice, but i can't hit it consistently straight. I have the R9 460 driver, so i figured i might like the 3 wood. I can't really tell how i hit it at dicks, because the one closest to me doesn't have a simulator. Any thoughts?

I have an r9 t3 with mitsubishi fubuki (13 degrees) and a r9 4 with mitsubishi matore (17 degrees). They are the best feeling woods that I've ever had the pleasue of hitting. I always carry the 4, and depending on the length of the course I switch my driver out for the 3 wood.

The nike has a mitsubishi graphite shaft. I think it is the fubuki.

If it is the black and yellow shaft it is the stock mitsubishi rayon 'for nike' shaft. IIRC the fubuki is a white shaft.

The R9 3 wood is the best I have used. I actually bought the R9 driver on the strength of it, but the driver wasn't a good fit for me. The 3 wood is a great all rounder. It's one of the easier 3 woods to hit from the fairway and offers a good blend of forgiveness and workability. Maybe try a 17 degree 4 wood, it might even give you a bit of extra distance with the extra hight you will get.

I have the R9 3 wood as well, and like the R9 469, it is a great club. Great off the deck and of the tee. It's decently forgiving and very workable. I love it. And, of course the FCT is a great feature.

      Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.

      Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.

      Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).

      Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
