1-3, depending on what my driver is doing on any given day. If Im driving the ball really good 1. If I start to lose my drive, which generally is a large push to the right I can lose a few off the tee box. I play cheapo Top Flite Eagles on Nike Mojo so I dont worry too much about it. I wont spend more than a couple minutes looking before I take a drop.

I typicall go through 3-4 per round.  A lot of this will depend on the number and type of wedge shots I have.  I play the Pro V1 X and have a tendency to shred the cover with my wedges.  I agree that if it is just a "paint" you are probably okay to play a little more with that ball, but I tend to get down into the cover.  At that point if I playing any sort of competitve round I will switch balls.  I'm hoping this isn't as big of issue with the new grooves and new Pro V1 X.

If I make it through the front 9 without losing a ball, I'm happy and usually will feel confident enough that I won't lose another one the rest of the day. However, if I lose 2-3 in the front 9, I could care less if I lose 2-3 more the rest of the day, I probably deserve it.

Between lost balls and balls getting gouged on greenside cartpaths, about 3 balls per round.

If I find a ball shreds easily on short iron shots, I don't use that model any more.

For cost reasons I play with the same ball until I lose it OB or in the water. Fortunately, my local course doesn't have much water on it and OB is a long way off even for the big hitters. However, I'll change the ball after 4 full rounds as I cannot stand the look of an ugly, beaten up Pro V1x!
