Myanmar Masters Exemption

Well, looks as though getting passed first stage is already paying off. I'd have thought I would have at least made the cut at final stage to get exempt to play in events, but, I've already been contacted to play in the first event of the season. The Myanmar Masters. (Jan 28th - 31st). Myanmar... yeah. One of the few places in the world I probably don't need to go to. Plus I've been gone for two weeks at work already. I think my boss would have a heart attack if I asked for another week and a half off. I did check airfare, and for only one week's notice, the price isn't too bad. $1040 round trip. Kind of makes me want to go. But don't think it'll happen. I'll wait and see what other invites I get.

Are you worried that if you pass up on the first invite the second might not come?

That was my first instinct as well. But, I explained my situation to the tour, that I am based in LA and that a trip to Asia is a big and pricey undertaking and that I have a job to keep as well. The tour, or at least the girl that sent the invite, were understanding. The emailed response:

Hi Ben,
No worries, we shall keep you posted for future events. It was nice meeting you too.
Hope to see you again soon.
Cheers.

I'm thinking if I turn down the next few, then they might see otherwise on inviting me. Hopefully the next invite won't come for another month or two.
