I still focus on my take-away, but I had to address the issue of hitting it fat. I simply cannot play golf when I hit so many shots fat. After reviewing my swing video again, I found the biggest problem; my head dip. I've seen it before, worked on it before, probably linked it to fat shots before, but not seen the big picture and put some effort into it. Today I'm more knowledgable and am better at seeing cause and effect. I struggle with hitting both irons and woods (driver too) fat, the head dip is a direct cause. You can also see that my right foot kicks off, probably partly to compensate for the low upper body.

Did some practice on a simulator, the results were there immediately. My 7i went from poor 120 yard shots to 155+ at the longest. Keeping my head up also made me more aware of my hip slide, hit some 250-ish drives where the hips drove ahead and pulled the body along. I still come over the top with the driver, pulling shots left, but that's something I'll work on later. What I focus on is swinging easy, letting the hips do all the work.

Hit some 4i over 200 yards. This is of course a simulator and the distance probably not 100% accurate, but it is pretty close to what I've hit on the course. Suffice to say, keeping my head up payed huge dividends. I kept focus on my take-away as well, which I see need a lot of work. If I don't have a mirror, I'm unsure which path to swing at.
The blog menu on the right cuts up a picture that extends through it, so I'll just post a link to the picture instead:

I've also started reading The Golfing Machine by Homer Kelley. Haven't read much yet, but so far it looks like a book I will enjoy.

Good work. My friend Adam fights that head dip and I know it's not an easy thing to eliminate.
