What is up with Rocco Mediate & those Dicks commercials?  They are pretty funny.  I wonder if Dicks is paying him as much as a club manufacture would?

In my clicgear.gif 2.0 Push Cart and callaway.gifgolf bag are -

 Z-Star driver 10.5  Mashie 3 and 7 metals  Mashie 4 hyrbird  Z-Star 4-PW Irons  cleveland.gifCG Black 48, 52, 56 degree wedges  GoLo putter  upro mx+ gps

An apostrophe would do wonders in clarifying the title's context.

Anyways, it's an interesting arrangement. Knowing the selection of clubs that is usually available at Dick's stores, I question what would happen if Rocco wanted to add a club in his bag that his sponsor doesn't stock.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Driver: '07 Burner 9.5° (stiff graphite shaft)
Woods: SasQuatch 17° 4-Wood (stiff graphite shaft)
Hybrid: 4DX Ironwood 20° (stiff graphite shaft)Irons/Wedges: Apex Edge 3-PW, GW, SW (stiff shaft); Carnoustie 60° LWPutter: Rossa AGSI+ Corzina...

Rocco said that he wants the flexibility to play different clubs so that is why he does not have a club deal this year. He does have a ball deal with Titleist.

whats up with chris anderson in the dick's commercial...could u look like any more of a freakshow than that?

i am interested in what is behind that deal with rocco tho...kind of interesting,  maybe he didnt have too many sponsors knocking on his door and dick's just went with him cuz he is an interesting guy with no other sponsors...they could then use him to show off the selection they have.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Those commercials were filmed at my local Dick's in Puyallup, WA. One of my golf buddies was trying to buy something in there that day and got to see Rocco and eyeball his R11. He said that he was the only customer in the store who had any idea who he was.

The thing is sponsor dollars speak.  Rocco has mass appeal to the average weekend guy and he can play any equipment he likes.  Looks like a smart move on Rocco's part and I am sure that a lot of pros would like that flexibility.  I could make it work.

Cobra LTDx 10.5* | Big Tour 15.5* | Rad Tour 18.5* | Titleist U500 4-23* | T100 5-P | Vokey SM7 50/8* F, 54/10* S, SM8 58/10* S | Odyssey 2 Ball Blade | Vice Pro Plus

lol at when the thread title was just "Rocco Mediate and Dicks".

Anyway, yes this is a smart move. He can promote several brands at once.
