Yes, Kuselius is an acquired taste and not necessarily a golf go-to guy.  This show is just a different vehicle to get various nuances of golf information that you don't get from Golf Central out to the viewers.  While the banter can be awful (and sometimes brilliant), it is just filler between interviews.  These guys ask decent questions to all facets of the world of golf.  The players watch and seem to enjoy the show which leads them to become participants. Many former greats are regulars in rotation which adds to the quality of work.  Gary is a former club pro/radio guy from Carolina and has a serious passion for everything PGA Tour.  Holly, yeah is a babe, but also played D1 golf at Michigan State and had her career cut short by injury  - they are both qualified.   EK is one of those trainwreck people that are just there to invoke an irritation - kind of like Jay Marriotti at the Sun-Times in Chicago back in the day.  Morning Drive is just a different format to present A LOT of golf info over a two-hour stretch.  Tivo it and skip through stuff - or take it or leave it.  It seems to be one of The Golf Channels ratings performers, so it's not going anywhere.

Morning Drive is OK.  Its no more or less annoying than any of the other radio shows that are on TV.  To me, its pretty much TGC's version of Mike and Mike.

am about ready  to cancel my subscription to the Golf Channel, does Tiger Woods own part of the channel?  They make me sick of Tiger W, thats all they talk about, I was happier when he wasnt playing and too, Erik on MOrning Drive is obnoxious, he thinks he knows everything and is  a loudmouth, actually the program is boring and you learn nothing from it.  thanks

There's a few things on Golf Channel that I don't watch ie. (Big Break=hate it and Hank Haney's show) to me both a waste of my time. With that said, watch what you want and discard the rest. No need to cancel a subscription just because of one show! Morning drive is okay, some of it I like and other items about the show I skip over. I record just about everything from Golf channel and avoid the commercials, chatter, et al. My take

What's up with Erik Kuselias? H e talks way to fast, his ignorance for the game of golf shows and then he tries to makes up for it by dominating the conversation. The show is a little better when ever he is on vacation and someone else is sitting in for him. Maybe it’s just me o r he needs to start drinking decaffeinated coffee.

I think in picking Kuselias, TGC was trying to toe the line between making it a golf show and making it an all-purpose morning show that just happened to be on TGC. Seems most people think they've failed at that.

They should just Holly and Laruen host it and call it a day.

I like when Jerry Foltz is on. I think they should dump Kuselias and add Foltz full time. I would watch much more often. I will flip between that and ESPN's First Take in the morning. If it is just Kuselias talking the switch happens much faster.

What happens when its just Skip Bayless talking on the other end?  Sounds like you got yourself a dilemma.

I like Skip Bayless. The trouble on that show is when they don't have someone who can really debate with him. Some of clowns they find to debate him can get tiring. Stephen A Smith is wonderful, the two of them together makes the show worth watching. Did you see it when Skip went on vacation? Holy hell it was BEYOND awful.

Anyways, this is off topic. I vote Foltz for Kuselias. I hope the Golf Channel is listening.

Is Kuselias the "Johnny Miller" of talk show hosts?

Kuselias doesn't bother me, but you're right, he does talk a lot and fast.  And he's definitely not a golf guy.  If I remember correctly, before they started this show, he was on an ESPN Fantasy football show each week and that was pretty much it.

My big problem on that show is Gary Williams, and for one reason that is not his fault.  He looks like "E" from Entourage and I soured on him and that show a long time ago.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
