Hi;

I have a Nike SUMO driver with a DIAMANA shaft regular (R-65) I really  fill it kind of flex for my swing now. I have a try some regular drivers of my friends and felt them more stiffer. I have try a stiff shaft but I don't have the swing speed of a stiff shaft.

what I'm looking is a regular shaft but a litter bit stiffer than my Diamana.

What can anyone recomend?

thanks!

Anyone will recommend that you get on a launch monitor and get fitted for the shaft that's best for your swing.

If you don't want to/don't care (you should), try a heavier shaft in R flex. This will feel slightly stiffer.

Otherwise, some manufacturers offer a "SR" flex (which stands for "stiff regular") which is in between R and S.

The right thing to do, though, is to have a pro and a machine determine what is best for you.

You could always buy a slightly longer shaft and cut it down a bit.

I used to use a Nike Sumo2 and would agree that the Diamana shafts tend to feel much more flexible than most offerings from other brands that i've tried (i.e. Aldila, UST, etc--and i've tried a bunch as i use a driver with interchangeable shafts, the Nickent Evolver 4Dx).  My Nike "stiff" felt like most companies' "regular", and i hated the feel.

Agree that it's hard and probably inappropriate to suggest a different shaft for you without knowing more about your swing and miss-tendencies...i.e. agree with others to get fit.  Agree with the post that says a heavier weight "R" flex might be the answer.  Or perhaps another manufacturer's lighter-weight "S" flex.

For specifics and my own personal experience, my swing speed too is "in between" the recommended range for most R vs S flexes. I used to love the Aldila DVS (the red one), as i got a little more distance with it (R flex), although i didn't feel like my control was as good.  The Aldila NV feels heavier in general but launched too low for me.  The UST Proforce V2 is also a nice shaft (and not too expensive now) that probably best combined a "stiffer" feel but didn't launch too low...and I actually have a hard time noticing much difference between the R and S from them.

That was me in a nutshell. I don't generate a lot of swing speed(old guy at 56) but I was having and always have fought a hook/draw. Tried a driver with the Aldila NV 65 stiff flex and problem solved. Rarely hook the ball now and I can come through the ball without fear of doing so. I'm pleased with my distance as well. Recently bought a used set of irons with stiffer shafts but the jury still out on those. I need some warm weather to see what I can really do. ;)
