Anyone who has ever owned Asics running shoes knows that they are comfortable. But, what of their premium golf shoes?

I asked my local club pro about Asics and he didn't know that they even made golf shoes. So much for their marketing division.

My last pair of Footjoys set me back almost $200 which I gladly shelled out because I wear size 14's and selection is usually an issue. However, in my last trip to Golf Galaxy, I tried on about 20 different golf shoes and was delighted to drop $169 on these shoes. They feel great, glue your feet to the turf, and have worn well for a full season playing twice a week.

My only complaint about these shoes is that they tend to leave some deep impressions on greens that are soft due to the pod-like structures on the heel. Anyone else have these?

Wow, I'd never heard of Asics doing golf shoes either. They do looks pretty cool. But I can see what you're saying about depressions in the greens. That could be said about any shoe on squishy greens though...

These are something that I need to check out.  I have worn Asics for running exclusively for the last few years.  Do they run true to size?

The link above is for the linksmaster. I found the gel ace the op was talking about for 129.99. Still not a bad price.

How does the synthetic material wear. That would be my only concern.

I have found that the shoes run true to size and are incredibly comfortable. They also did a great job standing up to wet Michigan golf!

The synthetic is looking as good as my '$200 Footjoys after the first season (I have black).

As for being $99 at Golf Galaxy - I wish!

And yes, they do look a lot like the cheaper model.

Thanks for the reply. I wanted a pair of the True Linkswear but I have plantar faciitis in both feet and don't think shoes with thin soles would work very well. I usually walk 9-18 four times a week and need a comfortable shoe with a lot of support. Really thinking of trying a pair of the Gel Ace.
