Ok ave been testing out new drivers and dont know where my numbers should be -  do these seem correct?

SS - 105

Launch angle - 14.7*

Ball Speed - 157

Distance - 285

And I know my backspin was alil high - I think it was like 3200rpm

I have a very high ball flight.

That's an extremely high smash factor (BS/SS), and with that high launch and high spin, the distance seems a little high as well.

What exactly is the smash factor?

Ball speed/ swing speed (or BS/SS). Yours comes out to be 1.495, while the theoretical max is 1.5. I'm pretty sure 1.495 is higher than most Tour pros.

your launch angle is a bit high, you probably want it closer to 12° than 15°

Well 1.5 is theoretical, not sure if thats true or not. Tech, the real world sometimes shows theoretical out the window. He could have just smoked that one. Ever get that one hit were you feel like you almost hit air, such a sweet feeling. That is the max Smash Factor.. So you never know.

At that launch angle you probably want something like less than 3200 RPM.

You can look for a different ball to lower that spin rate.

The Launch monitor I was using at golf galaxy wasnt giving me my SS, I was using my normal swing speed with my R7(which is 104) and average like 265yds, and I was testing the Adams 9064LS so in theory I could have been swinging with a faster swing speed just due to the areodynamics of the 9064LS.(4mph faster would be 109)

I was only hitting the new R11 that I was also testing on average 267yds.

So with what your saying and logic I am going to come to the conclusion I am swinging the 9064LS faster than my R7  resulting in more distance - So this means im going to be out $299 because im going to have to buy this club...

My launch angles we always around 14.7 - 15.1 - 14.9 etc

I cant remember my backspin but it was always a little high.
I had 2 shots where the launch angle was 11.2 & 11.7 and they ended up at 289 & 291 which were the 2 best shots I hit.

I just want to make sure the launch moniter isnt just making me look good so I buy the club...

14.7 is a fine launch angle. You want your spin a little lower though, around upper 2000s with that speed. 285 seems somewhere in the ball park. With a ball speed of 165, 14 degree launch and 2500 RPM of spin, the ball will carry 280 and roll to 300 or so.

Well if your comparing two clubs with the launch monitor, its pretty impossible to fix it to taylor towards one club.

I bet you could probably fine tune your driver with a fitted golf ball, and checking out a new shaft for cheaper than buying a new club.

It just seemed Distance was better, Dispersion was way better by almost half, its light but could really feel where the head was and it just felt amazing like I was hitting cotton balls. Also its winter here---those numbers with the 9064LS are better than my mid season numbers from last year when I was  playing well....

its probably you found a club that looks well, and has a prestock shaft that matches you pretty well. Good find..

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
