Figured I would take a stab at it. I'm feeling pretty confident at the moment and with 2 more months to prepare... I'm going to continue working with my local swing coach and practice a lot. I'm HOPING I don't get the toughest of the few courses they play for the monday qualifier..

But I sent in my paperwork and $$$..

All I can do now is hope my game shows up with me in April :)

One of my friends is a +4 and tried to qualify for the one at the University of Maryland course last year - played a course up by Frederick and shot 80.  It's a whole different game out there, not many people can handle it, I'm pretty sure I couldn't.

Alot of good players out there.A buddy of mine plays the Nationwide and he says if you dont shoot 65-66 consistantly all the time in tournaments and thats the key in tournaments the he said just forget it . He said if he had it to do all over again he would choose something else to do for a living. He is 47 and has played the pga and nationwide for along time and is always on the road. I myself can shoot pretty good #'s but nowhere near where those guys are going to shoot.I always seem to run out of gas on the last 3 holes.

Good luck to you!  You boys are on a whole 'nother level...

We had a Nationwide qualifier at my home course last year.  The winner shot -10, new course record.  The other people who qualified shot -5.

The day before the qualifier I was playing.. and a lot of those guys were there practicing.  A foursome of them were behind my group.  I stepped up on a par 5 and I just BOMBED my drive.  Farthest one I had ever hit on that hole.  It was a shade over 300.  As I'm standing over my ball, grinning and waiting to hit my approach shot... one of them tees off and their ball FLIES past mine.  Of course they were playing from the tips also!  *gulp*

Yea I know it's not a huge chance for success or anything. But it's on an area of courses I have played before and I'm just curious how I will shoot. I'm sure there's a strong possibility to get throttled by the people attempting the monday qualifier. But I'd like to continue getting some more tournament play with GOOD people before I take a stab at any of the mini-tours..
