Something other than golf I like to do. Anyone else go fishing? Where about? what fish?

I'm in the Northern Bay Area and fish the Napa River, San Pablo Bay, Bodega Bay, Lake Sonoma, etc etc...Striper, Sturgeon, Perch, and Shark mostly or Large Mouth and Trout inland. I have a 12 ft Aluminum Boat with a 2008, 9.8hp Tohatsu 4stroke. It's not much, but it's gets me off the shore.

Anyone else? Maybe on the one weekend per year you aren't playing golf?

Golf and fly fishing are my passions.

Nice. I want to try fly fishing. Everyone I've talked to that's tried it, loves it.

Must be a trend.  Other than maybe golf there is nothing I like better than waking an isolated stream with a fly rod.  It is even better if you can catch a few trout.  There are a few places in AZ where you can catch small mouth bass which can be a real challenge on a light fly rod.

Flyfisherman here as well.  I basically live on the river during trout season.

I like to fish, but I just don't have time with work and golf.  Buddy owns a 26' with the downriggers and we hit the Puget Sound for salmon.   I never catch anything, but just being out on the water and drinking beers is worth the fisherman frustration.  Lots of great places to fish in the PNW.

that's cool! I'll use a light lake pole with 4-6 pound line and snag 12 inch striped bass out in Napa Ca. all day. I leave it loose and let them run for fun while my wife's pole is out there looking for dinner. Keeps us entertained.

Sounds like I need to get out there and pick up a fly rod for the not rainy, but still wet days when I can't golf. Seems like golf and fly fishing are a popular choice.

* To the guy who goes Salmon fishing. I'm very jealous.
