909 F2 13.5 .......

I can buy a 909 F2 13.5 with Voodoo Stock Stiff shaft like new at a near bargain price ..... is it any good ?

Of course it will be good, but is it any good of the deck or is it only nice from a tee ?

I just have to work on being in control with the 3W if I want to go to scratch ..... but isn't 13.5 a bit too hard compared to a 15 or 15.5 ?

Depending upon how you personally hit the ball, a 13.5 may fit the bill for tee and fairway use.  When I've carried a 3W, it's been a 13.5 and I like the lower trajectory and slight increase in distance over a 15 degree.

I don't particularly care for the Voodoo shaft in that head, but this is just personal preference.

Well actually I don'y like fairway woods that much, but I figure I have to be able to use a fairway wood giving my self a few more chances for birdies if I want to get to scratch ......

I have read it more....... some don't like the stock Voodoo shaft and prefer the stock Diamana, I don't know ..... currently I use the Aldila DVS 60S in my driver (fitted) and I have the DVS also in my irons..... I guess I am more of an Aldila man ........

If in the end I like the 13.5 ..... I can always replace the shaft for a DVS 60S

What allways wonders me a bit is that the Diamana aftermarket shafts are named Blueboard, while the stock shaft is named Diamana Blue and about all using the stock shafts state in their sigs that they have the Blueboard, while they actually have the stock shaft. I know the debate on stock vs. aftermarket shafts, but I am sure that a fitted and personally trimmed shaft will have been made to closer tolerances than stock shafts.

I know the Graphite market very well (insider) and shafts are made by 100 at the same time and there will be a variance of maybe less than 5% and I can imagine the best being selected for aftermarket shafts ........ Allthough I also feel that none of us will feel any difference ........
