I went out today to my home course, and it was a moderate 35 degrees the entire round. I shot pretty decent considering the conditions. The course was not only very cold but extremely soft and soggy due to heavy rain the day before. Anyways I was just wondering what you guys wore during these cold rounds. I understand some of you are "fair weather" golfers and golf stricly when the conditions are perfect. However, I am working on my game for an upcoming local league. And I figure the more practice the better. So lets see what do you guys wear when its cold for golf, but still gives you a large range of motion and also is comfortable.

what I wore(wear):
Knit Winter Cap(it was a Titliest hat if it makes a difference)
Under Armour Cold Gear long Sleeve turtle neck
Quarter Zip Fleece (from Old Navy or somewhere)
Nike Full Zip track Jacket
Underarmour Cold Gear compression pants
Nike Dri Fit golf Pant
Nike Tube socks

I was extremely comfortable, warm and maintained my full range of motion.

What do you fellas wear?

3-Turtle neck

When it gets cold, I usually pop out my cold weather golf gloves, a warm hat (making sure ears are covered), regular golf pants (not too worried about my legs getting cold), and a sweater that doesn't restrict my swing.  I mainly make sure I ate plenty before going out as well as a coffee mug with a heater thingy.

Usually when its below 35* outside I wear my Mizuno beanie, Mizuno Windlite sweater, Champion thermal base layer (just like Underarmor but cheaper) and Mizuno Thermogrip gloves.  I dont go so far as wearing a thermal bottom base layer of anything like that.  Khakis keep me plenty warm.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

I went out this year and played a round with the windchill being at 18F. If the course is open I will go out since I know our layoff period can be up to 6 months possibly. When I go out on a cold day I wear a pair of fleece mittens that are tight around the wrist but loose in the fingers, makes it easy to take on and off and keep my golf glove on. I have a thin fleece hat that breathes well but keeps my head warm. I also have some steel toe boots that have a lot of insulation but don't go up to high which amazingly work really well on the course and are very warm and let me wear normal socks. It's a tough course to walk so it's quite physical so I tend to wear jeans but if needed I won't hesitate to put on a pair of long-jons. I usually wear a t-shirt with a fleece sweater I have that stays really warm and is very flexible so it really doesn't interfere with my swing. If it is really cold out I will put on a nice fall coat I have but it is more restricting on my swing.

Geez, I guess I'm more susceptible to the cold than I thought I was. I wear those underarmour thermals under my jeans to class sometimes haha. And depending on how long it stays cold like this, I may need to invest in a pair of those cold weather golf gloves.

Having spent many years with the sheriffs department's search and rescue teams, I have an abundance of cold weather gear.  So I usually wear a set of REI mid-weight long sleeve top and bottoms, either a long sleeve fleece polo or a mock turtle, a pair of Columbia polypro pants, and a fleece full zip jacket if needed, and either a pair of REI or Underarmour brand polypro socks.  I have a thin polypro Underarmour hat to covers my ears.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
