My wife and I spent 3 months on the range before we hit the course for the 1st time - it drove the membership saleswoman crazy and she kept threatening to drag us out herself. All I can say is just get out there - we played afternoons until we felt we could keep up with the pace of play of the morning crew.

Thanks :) We've gone to one local course (9-hole) so far. We're going there again this weekend if the weather is good. Most people there are beginners and people are patient, so it works out well. I shot a 49 (par 30). Hopefully I'll do better this time. I hit a fairway from every tee. This time I'm hoping to hit my OWN fairway each time.

Big goals...

This is going to be a great track when it matures. Unfortunatly it will probably be lined with houses by the time that happens.

Pretty nice course. My 'home' course for lunch practice. Driving range is so-so and chipping area is rock hard unfortunately.

Closer to my home and my Saturday course. Driving range has excellent distance markers and mats. Chipping area varies from soft, long grass to harder ground. Very busy though. Oddly enough the putting green is huge, but only has six holes.
