Awesome happy shaft story!!

So happy I had to share with everyone!

So my favorite independant golf store finally went under, closing the doors and liquidating all stock. I score 2 nickent hybrids (3H 3dx DC and a 4H 3dx RC) for 59$ each. The 3H had a Proforce V2 R-shaft and the 4H had a SR2.5 R-flex shaft.

I take the clubs to the range and started out with the 3H proforce. Awesome! Long, straight and penetrating flight with a real easy swing. I hit about 20 beauties down the middle before switching to the 4H with the SR2.5 shaft. Nothing but sorrow with the SR2.5, high balloons with a slice! Over and over and over again! All sales final!

So I call up golftown and talk to the guy in the pro-shop, he has some proforce V2's in stock, $10 to install and $89 for the shaft plus anpther $10 or so for the grip. So a total of $110.00 I need to drop into this puppy to get it in line with the other one! So my wife is never going to let me drop $110 into my brand new club (they never understand!) so I ask the guy about trimming the tip to stiffen it up a bit and he puts me on hold....

Well he comes back on the line and says'"buddy, you're not gonna believe your luck today!" Turns out they are liquidating some IROD shafts that are no longer in production - reg price $75, employee price $35 and liquidating at.......$8!!!!!!!!! Then I go down and it turns out the grip (lamkin crossline) that I want is also on sale for $4 instead of $10.

So TOTAL - $8 shaft + $4 grip + $10 install= $22 plus tax!!!!! Even the guy in the pro shop was grinning!

I'll have the club back in 2 weeks (he had about 40 sets to regrip for the start of the season) and I will post an update on clubs performance with the better shaft.
