The important thing to remember is that there are a number of ways you can work on this. I'm trying to give you some feelings here, but if they don't work, there are other sensations and we can try those down the road.

To the idea of the "three moves" we all make to varying degrees in our backswing:

Here are two for pushing the hips forward of the head:

And finally a drill you may want to try just so you can get some idea how far forward the hips will go:

Thanks Eric...I think there is a piece missing after the pictures as I can't see the drills.

Fix 1 is to extend earlier while keeping the head centered.  The late extension cause me to stand up and the head drifts forward.  To achieve this I should feel my right side stretching more.

Fix 2 is to slide the hips forward while keeping the head centered.  This will allow for the secondary axis tilt.

I will also get rid of the press.  Is this about it?

They're embedded YouTube videos. Do you have something that disables videos? Give it a try in a different browser. The videos will help.

To be clear, I do want you to "stand up" from your right hip on the backswing. You eventually do it, but you do it late, which is why your head drifts back to start.

Otherwise you've got it. You have some other things to work on, but I think you can do these two things first.

Good work in a short time. This will take awhile, and clearly the second piece - hips sliding past the head - may be more difficult.

You might need to feel as if your head goes up and forward on the backswing, and backwards on the downswing... but we'll save that for later. Experiment with that cautiously because it can lead to overdoing things.

I've had a look at it and you're right - it's a continuation of some things. Two pictures this time around because it's all you really need right now.

I saw your handicap was a 5.0 in another thread, the lowest it's ever been? Did I see that correctly? If so, AWESOME!

Thanks Erik. It is a 5.0. I can tell the hips piece is coming slowly but surely and now with the giraffe tip I am planning to spend some more time on flexibility! Just what do you mean by extending earlier on the backswing?

Ooh ooh, I know this one! Was just watching it today.

Lack of extension on the backswing will basically create the old "left shoulder over right knee" feeling.

Stretch got it, but basically, stand up a little sooner on the backswing. Not much - not a big worry, really - but if you can, cool.

Erik, two videos from today. I have been hitting it ok but not as flush as I was a month ago with the irons.  That overswing that crosses the line has to put some inconsistency in the mix. I am also trying to turn without moving the head so much. Still a little flip too. Any feedback on my thread is appreciated!

Looks A LOT better!  To keep those hips pushing forward and lengthening those legs into the follow through I'm going to point out something with the right foot.

Thanks! Got anything for the impact?  It breaks down right after impact.  I did send the video to Eric.  I appreciate the comments.

It's all tied together.  Weight stays back, hips don't get forward enough, going to lose the wrist angles.  Below: we can see the bottom of Grant's shoe because the foot has rolled forward.  Show us more spikes

I sent the videos to Mike. While you're feeling the extension of the legs and knees and even the hips, feel the arms staying long and super extended as well.

Wow, that was quick.  My brother was down yesterday, also a former apprentice, and he said (without seeing the pictures) that the breakdown is usually a result of the weight not getting transferred correctly.   It's funny that something like the back foot gets tied into this.

Thanks Mike.
