I am a shorter golfer who struggles with distance, i have a slower swing speed around 65-75 mph, and i need an upgrade on my driver.

I was looking at the Lynx XMD driver

Nike Dymo SQ or regular

but i will take any suggestions

also, i am looking to get matching woods, so if you have any suggestions please help!

Here's a review on the Nike Dymo

Also check out the Nickent drivers. There inexpensive and perform awesome in my opinion.

Which model of Nickent do you have? I have a Hyperforged from ~ 2004. The head is okay I suppose, but the shaft is complete garbage.

Well, what's your driver, what shaft is in it, and why do you need an upgrade?

The Dymo Squared is a great driver -- it's in my bag.  I assume the non-square is good too.  And you can probably get either inexpensively - I think I saw it at Dick's for $99.  A golf-specific shop might have it cheaper (don't tell Rocco).

I ask about the shaft because you might prefer to swap out for a lighter shaft - Mitsubishi makes some really light ones - and that might help with distance. (Edit:  I wrote "cheap shaft" at first instead.  No idea why)

I also ask because, with a swing speed of 65-75, you might contemplate amateur flex instead of regular.

Finally, you might benefit from some of the exercise threads on this board to increase your swing speed.

Thanks everyone, i wound up getting the Callaway FTiQ with a lite flex 60 gram Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki shaft (thanks shindig), i choose this over the Nike because it has the same square head, and i hit it slightly farther, also, it was a little cheaper, so i decided to buy this club.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
